Team Lotan–Heikkilä is back! Ryan, Leila, Eero, Simoona and Friida are lacing up once again for the Run for Women’s and Newborn Health in support of the Almonte General Hospital.
Let’s be clear: not all of us are in it to win it.
Some of us are in it to finish it.
And one of us (Ryan) may or may not have built a remarkably consistent track record of bringing up the rear. In fairness, someone has to ensure everyone else makes it safely across the finish line. Leadership takes many forms.
What brings us back each year isn’t just the run - it’s Almonte.
Almonte is a place where community means something, where people show up for one another, and where “neighbour” is a noun, a verb, and occasionally a lifeline. And at the heart of it all is the Almonte General Hospital - a small hospital doing truly big things.
In a world where access to high-quality healthcare can’t be taken for granted, Almonte is something special. The hospital delivers exceptional care close to home, supporting women, newborns, and families at some of the most important, and vulnerable, moments in their lives. It makes this already incredible community even stronger, more resilient and more human.
We run each year because a small hospital can have an outsized impact and because communities like Almonte are worth investing in.
We deeply appreciate your support. Thank you!
