Baroud Family Fundraiser

We’ve spent enough time at Almonte General Hospital (AGH) to qualify for a frequent flyer card—if only they gave those out! Thankfully, every visit has been met with incredible care, kindness, and staff who treat you like family (the good kind—think warm hugs, not awkward holiday dinners or weird Uncle Bob*).

On June 7th our family will be participating in the AGH Run for Women’s & Newborn Health. With all funds going to the Almonte General Hospital’s Obstetrics Unit, our goal is to reach $1,000.

From welcoming our oldest son into the world during the chaos of the pandemic and to the care leading up to the birth of our second (plus being admitted at 34 weeks pregnant from a virus), we’ve seen firsthand just how much this little hospital does—especially for women and newborns.

In a recent Abacus Poll in Ontario, 73% of the population admitted they did not know how hospitals are funded - including the fact that the provincial government does not pay for the clinical equipment used by physicians and staff. As a result, AGH rely on community support to contribute the necessary funds.

So now, we’re lacing up our runners (and reminding Dad to stretch) to give back to a place and people that has given us so much.
